Principal Flute
Clivia Ngan earned her Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from California State University of Fullerton, and is a freelance flutist and instructor of the Los Angeles and Orange County area. She has studied with Jean Ferrandis-international flute soloist, and Jamie Pedrini-principal flutist of several acclaimed orchestras based in Southern California. Clivia has won scholarship awards for her performances throughout her collegiate studies and has consistently performed as a soloist and chamber musician in different settings for many years. She has performed in masterclasses for renowned flutists such as Leone Buyse, Nikolai Duchamp and Demarre McGill. In 2017 and 2018, her woodwind quintet was selected to perform for the Chamber Music Institute at the University of Lincoln, Nebraska, where they also received masterclass instruction from the Chiara String Quartet. She has also done studio recordings with artists of different musical backgrounds and genres. In addition to her performance career, Clivia has also been working for non-profit music organizations for several years and is an avid flute coach and private instructor for school and youth ensembles. Her goal as a musician is to continue exposing people to varieties of great, quality music and performances.
