NATHAN J. FULMIZI

Bass Trombone

Nathan Fulmizi is a young talent within the next generation of professional musicians. Nathan is a hard working performer and educator from Huntington Beach California. He received his diploma from Walnut High-school and studied music education and bass trombone performance at Orange Coast College where he studied bass trombone privately with Len Wicks. Nathan is planning on finishing his music studies at Berklee College Of Music and plans to study privately with Marshall Gilkes. Nathan was born in 1995 and comes from a very musical family. Nathan has been playing music ever since he was a young child. He started playing the trombone when he was ten years old. Although Nathan always had an interest in music he started taking his playing more seriously in his high school and early college years. In high school Nathan loved to play in the jazz band, marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, and full orchestra. Along with playing in many groups Nathan won many awards such as the SCJA “best soloist award” and the music departments “best musician award.” Nathan was also very involved in the “Tri-M Music Honors Society” and also “Band Buddies” an after school program working with elementary school kids. Nathans high school experience inspired him to become a professional musician and music educator, and since 2013 has been deviling an impressive and versatile music career. Nathan is currently a freelance bass and tenor trombonist and plays professionally in the greater Orange County and Las Angelas area. Along with playing professionally Nathan also works as an avid music educator. He is teaching Elementary - High-school band and is also a private music instructor. As a performer Nathan plays many styles and genres of music. He has developed a versatile freelance career and has had the opportunity of playing the trombone in a variety of different venues and many parts of America and Europe. Some groups that Nathan currently performs in include, Bones West, St.Andrews Brass, Encore Productions Pit Orchestra, Sinclair Entertainment Jazz Combo, Anaheim HS Productions Pit Orchestra, The Corona Symphony, Synesthesia Sinfonietta, Dana Point Symphony, Freelancer Series Orchestra, Big Band 2000, Jazz At The Naz, Buddy Goldfarb Big Band, Bob Fox Big Band, Kirk Nelson and Jambalaya West House Of Blues Band, Grand Daddy Jack R and B, Mordad Orchestra Salsa Band,
Santana Tribute Band, King Davids Raggae Gosple Band, Good Times Top 40 Horn Section, and The Balboa Bachelors Trombone Quartet. Some groups that Nathan has performed with in the past include Walnut High-school Jazz Band/Marching Band/Concert Band, SCSBOA Wind Ensemble, SCSBOA All Star Jazz Band, Orange Coast College Jazz Band/Jazz Combo/Gospel Band, Concordia University Wind Ensemble, Vanguard University Orchestra, Cal State University Fullerton Trombone Ensemble ,Saddleback College Jazz Band, Mid Cities Baptist Church Orchestra, La Mirada Symphony, USC Chinese Celebration Pit Orchestra, Coast Swing Band, Slide Effects, Bethel Baptist Church Orchestra, UCI Symphonic Orchestra, Compass Bible Church Praise Band, Orange County Symphony, Huntington Beach Concert Band, International Trombone Festival Trombone Choir, Sons Of Thunder Big Band ,His Place Productions Pit Orchestra , Baker Brothers Band, El Duroto Swing Band, Bryan Atilano Dixieland Band, Andreas Trujillo Trad Jazz Combo, Browns Brothers Funk Band , Southern California Combined Trombone Choir, Denver Beirman and The Mile High Orchestra and, Gilifos Vudu Funk Band. Along with working as a freelance bass and tenor trombonist, Nathan is also a very involved music educator. He works as a band director and private music instructor. As a band director Nathan currently teaches at The Orange County Music Association, Calvery Chapel Elementary/Middle/High School, Newport Chritian School, Garden Grove Village Bible School, and Cornerstone Elementary. As a private Music Instructor he currently teaches at New Day Music Studios, NF Music Studios, and The Salvation Army Brass Studio. Nathan has also worked as a band director at many other schools in the past including Mariners Christian School, The Arts and Learning Conservatory, Peterson Elementary, Eader Elementary, Hawes Elementary, Perry Elementary, and Mission Viejo Christian School. Nathan currently resides in Huntington Beach with his wife Annabella, and is looking forward to continuing his work as a performer and educator.
